I'm back!

Hello all... it's been a while.
I know, it's been a long while since I have written... the end of summer is upon us tomorrow and I decided to come back now? LOL! Funny! I just decided to take some time off of writing to see if I can get some stuff together.

I remembered back in January of this year, I wrote out a list of 36 things that I wanted to accomplish by my 36th birthday. And with my birthday just shy of 2 months away, I thought that I would go through the list and see what I had actually accomplished, and I must say, that I have accomplished a lot.

I have complete 14 of the 36 by September of 2013... I have worked on others on the list and some other ones are some that are on an ongoing basis, so I don't know how I will be able to get them off the list. LOL! But nonetheless, I am proud of the person that I have become since the beginning of this year.

Here is the list and some comments that I have made to some of the items listed:

1.             Run more 5k's - Because of the high impact of the sport, I am unable to continue running my 5k's, but that is only temporary. Thankfully I was able to participate in quite a few before having to stop for a little while.
2.             Drop weight - for good! - I am slowly getting there, thankfully! I have dropped both weight and some inches from my frame.
3.             Attend more plays/theater/concerts - I have attended 2 concerts this year, which is up from last year! LOL! Hopefully I will be able to do more down the line.
4.             Try out at least 10 new restaurants - So far up to 6 restaurants, but we are just in September so I still have more time to get to 10. :)
5.             Make going to the gym a priority - And as hard as it has been to get to the gym, the princess has kept me accountable to her since I take her with me, and now the hubby has been able to join me on this journey.
6.             Read more - Loving this because I have been. Whether its a magazine or a book but I have been reading more.
7.             Learn more. - Haven't really completed this because learning is an everyday process.
8.             Potty train Mayalis before her birthday!!!! - Well, I didn't get it in time for her birthday in April, but I have it done for the upcoming holidays! AWESOME! So proud of our little girl!
9.             Change - and I will leave this one a broad stroke as there is a lot to be changed - Another thing that hasn't been completed. - Change is done gradually, and with it, comes time.
10.          Travel more - Because of other things that are on this list, travel just wasn't done as much as I wanted it but it will all be worth it.
11.          Plan things a little better for myself
12.          **** this one is a personal one. ;-) - Working on this one as we speak! :)
13.          Work on being more positive about things in my life
14.          Either submit my blog as my book or start a whole new book to submit for publishing (must be decided on before the end of this month!) - Well, I haven't done it yet but I did start writing again which is something that I stopped doing all together.
15.          Continue taking Mayalis to her swimming lessons - She is back at school and back in her class for this semester. She needs to learn!
16.          Teach Mayalis how to write her name - I haven't tackled this one as much as I wanted to but I have tried. With the potty training being a little more stressful on her than I thought it would be, I kind of put this one on the back-burner.
17.          Finally understand that things might not always be rosy but they need to be done
18.          Write my blog more often and find meaningful and mindful topics - YIKES! I really dropped the ball on this one. I stopped writing all together in July! But that's okay... I took a little break and hopefully now I will be back.
19.          Expand my knowledge at work - It's been hard. Haven't really been able to do anything about this one.
20.          Cut down on pop and concentrate on drinking more water - Well, my water consumption has gone up so much. There are times that I haven't been able to stay away completely, but I think that I drink pop about 2 to 3 times a month now.
21.          Eat healthier - With the hubby watching my intake and cooking for me, this has been great! We both have been eating so much healthier.
22.          Increase my vocabulary - I have been trying really hard on doing this. Actually reaching down deep and searching for words that I wouldn't necessarily use on a daily basis. But it's a hard one. LOL!
23.          Save more/Spend less - I thought this one was going to be hard to accomplish but this one has been one of the easiest ones to do. LOL!!
24.          Pay off my debits - all of them! - Almost there!!! :-D Hopefully by this time next year, no more!
25.          Grow my hair out - So happy about doing this... The way that my hair looks from August 2012 to now is so different and I am so glad that I decided to grow it out again.
26.          Get better at fixing my own nails - So okay, I turned to YouTube to help me with this but I haven't been able to become the expert that I thought that I could be. But I am not giving up on myself yet! LOL!!
27.          Floss my teeth more! LOL! - I was doing this for a while but something happened and I stopped. Not a good thing to do... but I will take it up again and soon! LOL!
28.          Take more pictures with a camera more... than with my phone! - I have started doing this more but the problem with this, I don't take my camera with me everywhere! LOL!!
29.          **** another personal one - This one has been completed but I will share what it is at a later date! This is a big one - and no, it's not that I'm pregnant! LOL!
30.          **** one more personal one
31.          Find myself - very broad for me  - I have learned what I need to do for myself in order to get ahead. And I am still working on it but sooner or later things will get to where they need to be.
32.          Accept myself - this one has been a hard one for me but I have learned that I am a unique person and I must accept it. I might not fit into the pegs where everyone else does, but that doesn't make it any worse for me. I like myself, at times. LOL!
33.          **** change it up
34.          Make life fun!
35.          Accept those that are different than me... and know that they are just as special as I am - I have tried doing this but have noticed that people aren't just special, some people are just plain mean and selfish. And sometimes you just have to walk away in order to make things better for yourself.
36.          Keep a smile on my face! - No matter what, I have started doing this more. I know that times don't allow me to keep it on my face but I do try to at least crack myself up once in a while. LOL!

But there is one thing that is on the list but not really "listed"...
Currently, as you may know if you've been following my blog, I have been struggling with this whole not being able to have another child with my husband. I am happy to report that I have finally gotten the green light to start my injections for IVF treatment. So hopefully, things will go smoothly during this process because I am going into this blindly. I know of only one other person that has gone through this and the injection of hormones works different with each person.

Today has been a roller coaster of emotions for me but it has all been a wonderful ride because it has turned me into the person that sits in front of this computer now... a stronger person.
No matter what may happen, I know that I have the support to get through it.

So I leave this one here...
I have a lot to do after work today... so wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
